Obituary For Don Blair Snoke

Don Blair Snoke D.D.S., 77, passed away after a short illness with family and good friends by his side on February 3, 2024, at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Snoke, who went by his middle name of Blair, owned a dental practice on Park Boulevard in Seminole, Florida, for 30 years. He became widely known as an expert in the field of restorative dentistry. Dr. Snoke joined the LECOM School of Dental Medicine part time in 2014 as a clinical preceptor and after selling his practice in 2016 he went full time and at the time of his death, he was an Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry. Throughout his years at LECOM, Dr. Snoke devoted his time to his students and their patients and served on several academic committees, including chairman of the school’s Clinical Affairs Committee. He took the lead in developing and implementing the LECOM Denture Clinic. Dr. Snoke loved being a dentist and valued the importance of effective communication with patients and, more importantly, loved teaching. Coincidentally, he taught high school history on his way to becoming a dentist.

Blair, who was born on September 3, 1946, in Utica, Ohio, was a graduate and valedictorian of Utica High School. He enjoyed music, played the piano and was first chair clarinet in the Ohio State Youth Concert Band. After high school, he went to Ohio State University, where he earned several degrees, including Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Snoke was a lifelong avid reader of non-fiction and had a huge collection of books. He enjoyed golfing and bass fishing on Lake Kissimmee and at fishing spots all over Florida with his son, Stephen, and other family members. He enjoyed treasure hunting in antique stores and he collected rare bottles of bourbon – but he didn’t drink. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling around Florida in his bright red Camaro ZL1, cigar in hand.

He is survived by three children, Stephen Snoke (Krystal Stephens), Allyson Snoke and Kathy Abdoney and their mother, Roberta (Bobbie) Fricker Snoke; his grandson, Andrew; his brother, Brent Snoke (Christie); his long-time girlfriend, Patti Ewald; several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Moshi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Charline Snoke; and his brother, Barry.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on March 3,2024 at the Barn at Crescent Lake,

9612 Crescent Dr. Odessa, Florida 33556 from 10am-1pm.
