Obituary For Harold Edward Beck

Harold Edward Beck, age 85, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of May 11, 2024. Harold was born August 9, 1938 to Edward and Mary Beck in Buffalo, NY, along with two (late) brothers, Raymond (late wife Edith) and Edward (wife, Patricia still surviving). He served his country in the US Army in his 20s and came back to work in the family commercial painting business for several decades before switching gears and worked for over 20 years for Scott Aviation in Buffalo. Harold moved to Florida in May 2002 after many road trips there.

Family was everything to Harold, and he had a very large family. If you wanted to know what was going on with anyone, just ask Harold. When living in Buffalo, the family all lived close by and he made a point to visit and catch up with everyone often. He was always the uncle and cousin that was doing special things for the kids. He was also the one making chocolates for everyone during the holidays and the one driving older relatives to see their kids in other states. Harold’s heart of service didn’t end with his family, though. When a hero was needed, he, his uncle, and his brother Eddy jumped to action in Eddy’s 16 foot boat to help save several lives of neighbors nearly swept away in a street flood in their residential area in Cheektowaga, NY in August of 1963.

Harold is survived by his former wife, Barbara, his daughter, Suzanne, his late son, James, his Aunt Alice (late Albert) Annibali, Sister-in-law, Patricia Beck, many cousins, nephews and nieces. Harold will always be remembered for the love and care he showed his family. He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery following military honors.

In his memory, a donation can be made to HPH Hospice - Hernando County, FL, or St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital.
