Sylvia "Leah" Messer, age 56, passed in peace, surrounded by her family on June 20, 2022 at North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida, after a courageous fight to overcome injuries due to a car accident. Leah was born June 8, 1966, to Lawrence and Sylvia Messer in Portland, ME. She was an amazing sister and friend. Her vivacious spirit for life was contagious. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and going on adventures. Leah found humor in the most mundane circumstances and had a way of facing life's challenges with a smile. You can believe that if you ever met her, you would not soon forget her. Leah was preceded in death by her life partner of 20 years, Karan Castellanos. She is survived by her brothers, Greg Cory (Taimi); Larry Messer; Dan Messer (Rebeca), and Israel Rojas; Her sister, Roxanne Kluchnik (Nancy); 3 nephews, 5 nieces, and 1 great-niece. The family is having a private memorial service.
